You may cancel your subscription at any time by:

Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period
  • You will retain access to all premium features until the subscription expires
  • Auto-renewal will be disabled, and you will not be charged for subsequent periods
  • After expiration, your account will revert to the free tier with limited access

4. Refund Policy

4.1 General Policy

Digital Content: As our subscriptions provide immediate access to digital content, refunds are generally not provided once the subscription period has begun.

4.2 Exceptions

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate Payment: If you were charged multiple times for the same subscription
  • Technical Issues: If a technical error on our end prevented you from accessing the service for an extended period (more than 7 consecutive days)
  • Unauthorized Transaction: If your payment method was used without your authorization
  • Within 48 Hours: If you request cancellation within 48 hours of purchase and have not accessed any premium content

4.3 Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds will not be provided for:

  • Change of mind after the 48-hour window
  • Partial use of subscription period
  • Dissatisfaction with editorial content or news coverage
  • Failure to cancel before automatic renewal
  • Issues caused by user's device, internet connection, or failure to meet technical requirements

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please:

  1. Email billing@theguardianchronicle.com with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your registered email address and transaction ID
  3. Clearly state the reason for your refund request
  4. Provide any supporting documentation (e.g., screenshots of errors)

We will review your request within 5-7 business days and notify you of our decision via email.

6. Refund Processing

If your refund is approved:

  • The refund will be processed to the original payment method
  • Bank/card refunds may take 5-10 business days to appear in your account
  • UPI refunds are typically processed within 2-4 business days
  • You will receive email confirmation once the refund is initiated

7. Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions auto-renew by default. We will send you a reminder email 7 days before your subscription renews. To avoid being charged:

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date
  • Manage auto-renewal settings in your Account Settings

8. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect. You may cancel before the new price applies to avoid being charged at the new rate.

9. Promotional Offers

Promotional or discounted subscriptions may have different terms. Please refer to the specific terms of the promotion. Promotional rates are not applicable for refund calculations.
